Pacific County is located in the southwestern part of Washington State. The county was named after the Pacific Ocean which forms its western border. County’s southern border is formed by the Columbia River and Wahkiakum County. To the north, Pacific County borders with Grays Harbor County and to the east, with Lewis County. Long Beach Peninsula, which is 30 miles long, is the main distinctive feature of the county.
On the third full week of August you may become a spectator and a participant of one of the most prominent and enchanting events, taking place in Washington State. And this event is Annual Washington State International Kite Festival.
Splendid views of wetlands, peaceful jaunt through a magnificent forest, a freshwater stream, which is a place for salmon spawning, all these, in combination with fantastic outdoor sculptures, richly scattered along the trail, are the main appeals of the Willapa Art Trail.
Located on the Long Beach Peninsula, near the town of Ilwaco, Cape Disappointment State Park presents one of the best coastal recreation spaces in Washington State. It provides its visitors with twenty seven miles of scenic ocean shores, numerous short trails which allow exploring the beautiful territory of the park, two spectacular lighthouses, camping possibilities and much more.
